How Vindians are legal
Always speculation going on in a club about modified motorcycles but pre-1949 vehicles have seperate parameters to confirm to, so a Vindian is a Vincent engine fitted in a Indian frame with the engine mounts modified, the engine was built pre 1949 and in standard Rapide form produces the same claimed horsepower as a Chief 80. So we get a ok from VicRoads, they are more efficient than a side valve and have a foot gearchange, hand clutch, the engine-gearbox are similar in weight as well so they operate more efficiently on the road and reliability is probably better.
