Whats in a name?
Phillip White has a suggestion about a name change (article below) to reflect our direction, what do you think say we made the cut-off 1980 & all makes, or just stick with B.E.A.R.S (British, European & American) the name could be I.R.C (Iron Riders Club) or the Kickstart Club, even Red Plate Club. We changed our direction 2 years ago now to stop the inevitable decline of older riders not being capable of riding older Indians or new heavier machines, also the number of younger riders interested or able to afford such machines. This in fact helped a steady decline and we started gaining more members as a result, Phillip White has been a member since 2011 and therefore noticed the change, Phillip has also stated he wants to go riding with classic motorcycles NOT necessarily Classic Riders! We could very quickly turn into a Classic Motorcycle Club of Victoria which I personally would hate, they never defined a cut-off and that club is full of geriatrics riding new Triumphs BMW’S and forgotton era Japanese bikes that are on a rolling 25 year Club permit so currently year 2000! I have been a member of the Classic Club now for 47 years and watched it go from guys riding classics to what I have previously noted. We need feedback please as this is a little more than a name change, it is something that will change our direction and affect the future of our membership and also the people you ride with.
