The IIRA annual Christmas Party was a great success at Zorro’s Apparel thank you Mark & Chrissie for all your effort, the really great thing was one of our members John Gee turning up on a 111 Series 2014 Chief this was only picked up yesterday and is the first of around 8 new Indians that our members have bought, it made the people there envious and the ones that have placed deposits even more so. This is the first Chief I have seen and I’m glad I had sunglasses on there is a lot of “Bling on the new Indian

Ever had that sinking feeling when there is a run and no back-up vehicle, personally I havent as I have confidence in my motorcycles but even I worry about a flat tyre. The Motorcycle Australia Cover we had in the past was great as one of our members found out when his Indian & and sidecar stopped and while others there were willing to leave him stranded (not our Association), a simple phone call had him picked-up & delivered to a place of repair. This was exceptional service seeing he was in another State and at that time on a holiday, unfortunately Motorcycling Australia has stopped this cover but another National company NSW Motorcycle Alliance has taken it up & will even cover your car for a little extra, your Association is committed to helping all our members & we are encouraging you to join especially those who have multiple machines and are going on our Rallies, we have sometimes a back-up vehicle but do not use this to encourage you to go rallies, your machine should be capable of your full confidence as it is inconvenient  for your mates who have to fix your machine on the side of the road for you (click on logos above)

NEW BRISBANE DEALERSHIP NOW OPEN

Indian Motorcycle Australia is pleased to announce that, Indian Motorcycle Brisbane 632 Wickham Street in Fortitude Valley opened its doors this week for business. The prominent two story showroom will house both Victory and Indian Motorcycle brands, with Indian positioned upstairs.  In addition to the bikes, the dealership will also stock an extensive array of hugely popular Indian apparel, genuine accessories and parts, as well as experienced sales/service staff to support this new exciting brand in Brisbane.  Country Manager, Peter Harvey said “opening the Indian Motorcycle dealership in Fortitude Valley is a major development in the expansion of the Indian Motorcycle network. Brisbane is a very large bike market and the timing was fortuitous that we could open the new dealership and house both Indian Motorcycle and Victory under the one roof. The premises are perfectly located in the premium auto precinct, though we expect to outgrow them quickly and as such are still looking for a larger more permanent home.”

741 original or not?

Looks like a period photo doesn’t it well it is not, a lot of motorcycles are restored from photos that are supposed to be genuine of the era. There are a number of restored machines that are not as the maker intended, that is not to take credit from the owner that has lavished piles of money and time on their treasure but be careful if you are buying such a machine because it may not be as original as you think, the term “Rustoration” is when it is old and rusty but not as old or as rusty as you think as someone has gone to the trouble to make it that way. How many of things can you pick with 640B above that are not correct & I still would love to own it
