NEW BRISBANE DEALERSHIP NOW OPEN
Indian Motorcycle Australia is pleased to announce that, Indian Motorcycle Brisbane 632 Wickham Street in Fortitude Valley opened its doors this week for business. The prominent two story showroom will house both Victory and Indian Motorcycle brands, with Indian positioned upstairs. In addition to the bikes, the dealership will also stock an extensive array of hugely popular Indian apparel, genuine accessories and parts, as well as experienced sales/service staff to support this new exciting brand in Brisbane. Country Manager, Peter Harvey said “opening the Indian Motorcycle dealership in Fortitude Valley is a major development in the expansion of the Indian Motorcycle network. Brisbane is a very large bike market and the timing was fortuitous that we could open the new dealership and house both Indian Motorcycle and Victory under the one roof. The premises are perfectly located in the premium auto precinct, though we expect to outgrow them quickly and as such are still looking for a larger more permanent home.”

Some specials just make the juices flow, the V8 above does for me & its for sale Mark used to sell me lots of Gilroy parts & he has this bike on the market, it is a two wheel Ford V8 with a set of 1946-48 Indian forks, not much Indian but I still like it.

Looks like a period photo doesn’t it well it is not, a lot of motorcycles are restored from photos that are supposed to be genuine of the era. There are a number of restored machines that are not as the maker intended, that is not to take credit from the owner that has lavished piles of money and time on their treasure but be careful if you are buying such a machine because it may not be as original as you think, the term “Rustoration” is when it is old and rusty but not as old or as rusty as you think as someone has gone to the trouble to make it that way. How many of things can you pick with 640B above that are not correct & I still would love to own it
Recently I noticed a new Indian video on the new Chieftan with a large number of factory riders on the new product all different nationalities & races, which shows how President Kennedy’s policy of equal rights is working in the 21st Century, hard to believe that in the sixties this wasn’t always so. These pictures were taken in the thirties & forties and it is offensive to see the segregation that existed seventy years after Lincoln fought the Civil War against slavery especially against the serviceman doing his duty, great shots though of a time well gone now I hope
Five new club magazines from Indian Motorcycle Club of West Aust (our affiliate club) are now in the W.A Section news for you to read. I would like to thank Murray Morell for sending these and allowing us to re-produce them as they are are great magazine on the Heritage models and what the “boys & girls” are doing over there, I have re-produced 21 of them already just click on the cover photo of each as you wish to read them and they will slowly download as they are large files
Vic Roads have at last scrapped registration labels on all vehicles on full rego as of the 01/01/14 that is unless you have a vehicle on a Red Plate Club Permit. So dont rush out and throw your label away in January otherwise a fine will be imposed, people think this is “cheap” registration but no it is only a Permit and as such we have to comform
Some of these I have put on the site before, the snow plough,Ambulance, Sawbench, & the train but the machine gun carrier which works great in traffic & the Indian road line marker are different. The road line marker seems simple after seeing a modern day version plus I reckon great fun to ride
